Mission

Bengaluru company that turns satellite imagery into credit, crop and infrastructure data for banks and insurers, and is building its own satellites through KaleidEO.

SatSure sells analysis of satellite imagery rather than the imagery itself. Its customers include banks, insurers and agribusinesses. A bank can use it to check a farmer's crops before lending, and an insurer can use it to assess crop damage without sending someone to the field. The same methods are sold for forests, roads, power lines and airports.

Prateep Basu, Rashmit Singh Sukhmani and Abhishek Raju started SatSure in 2017. It ran without outside money until Baring Private Equity India invested in late 2021. In 2022 it bought CropTrails, a farm management app, and Old City Innovations, a geospatial firm in Philadelphia, to enter the US. In 2024 TransUnion, the credit bureau, took a minority stake.

SatSure also wants satellites of its own. In 2022 it set up a subsidiary, KaleidEO, to build optical cameras for them, and in 2024 KaleidEO tested a camera on an aircraft over the UK and Austria. The first satellite was once planned for December 2022. KaleidEO now plans a fleet of four for 2026. SatSure also joined the consortium, led by Pixxel, that won the right in 2025 to build a national Earth observation system for India. It will contribute two satellites with KaleidEO cameras.
